Gabrijela Jurkovic, also known as GJ, was born in Zagreb, Croatia and raised in a family of musicians and artists. From a young age, she was exposed to different genres of music and developed a passion for jazz and lofi music. Gabrijela started producing music in her teenage years, experimenting with different sounds and techniques.
She attended music school and honed her skills as a producer, learning how to incorporate live instruments with electronic beats. After completing her studies, Gabrijela moved to Berlin, where she was influenced by the city’s vibrant music scene and diverse culture. It was here that she discovered the world of lofi hip hop and began to incorporate its elements into her own music.
Gabrijela’s music is a unique blend of jazz, lofi and hip hop beats, with a touch of soul and funk. Her tracks are known for their mellow and relaxing sound, perfect for a chilled-out evening or studying. She draws inspiration from her travels, the city she lives in and the people she meets.
In 2018, Gabrijela released her first EP, “Lofi Nights in Berlin,” which received critical acclaim from music lovers and critics alike. The EP showcased her talent as a producer, incorporating live instruments and samples to create a dreamy and ethereal soundscape.
Since then, Gabrijela has become a sought-after producer and has collaborated with numerous artists in the lofi and jazz lofi scene. Her music has been featured in several independent films and has been used as background music in popular video games.
