Justin Hobson was born and raised in the small town of Lawrence, Kansas. From a young age, he was always drawn to the sounds of jazz and the beats of hip hop. Growing up, he would spend hours listening to jazz legends like Miles Davis and John Coltrane, and would often freestyle over instrumentals he found online.
As he got older, Justin started to experiment with production, creating his own beats and soundscapes. He was particularly drawn to the lo-fi aesthetic, which he felt had a soulful and organic quality that was missing from much of the music he was hearing.
In his early twenties, Justin moved to New York City, where he quickly became a part of the underground music scene. He played at local jazz clubs and started to build a following, quickly gaining recognition for his unique sound and approach to production.
It wasn’t long before Justin caught the attention of record labels and other industry professionals, and he soon found himself working on collaborations with some of the biggest names in jazz and lo-fi music. He released his first album, “The Art of Lo-Fi,” in 2017, which was met with critical acclaim and garnered him a cult following.
Since then, Justin has released several more albums and continues to tour and perform, showcasing his distinctive sound and style to audiences around the world. He remains committed to pushing the boundaries of lo-fi and jazz music, and is always looking for new ways to incorporate elements of hip hop, soul, and electronic music into his work.
Whether he’s performing live, in the studio, or simply jamming with friends, Justin Hobson remains dedicated to his craft, and is always striving to create music that speaks to the soul and moves the body.
