A 24/7 live stream is a broadcast that never stops: instead of only uploading separate videos, a channel streams a continuous programme of music, often with a looping animation, a live chat and a list of the tracks playing. In lo-fi the format became iconic through the long-running Lofi Girl stream on YouTube, left on by listeners while they study, work or sleep. When that stream briefly disappeared in July 2022 after a false copyright claim, the news was widely reported.

Running a stream around the clock needs an encoder that never sleeps, a reliable connection and a properly licensed catalogue, since every track is effectively being broadcast to the public. Platforms also have their own limits: YouTube, for instance, warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be archived.

Mondolofi Radio follows the same model, streaming jazz lo-fi without interruption so that listeners can drop in at any moment instead of building their own queue.
